Syrian ouster of Assad 'acceptable'

Russia said Saturday it would be ``only glad'' to support the departure of President Bashar al-Assad if Syrians agreed on it, without wanting to impose the process from the outside.

"If the Syrians agree on this with each other, we will be only glad to support such an outcome,'' said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, adding that Moscow did not want to "impose the conditions of dialogue from outside.'' Russia, which is pushing for a conference on Syria to include Iran despite US protests, said Saturday that to deny Teheran a role in helping negotiate an end to the crisis would be "thoughtless''. "To say that Iran doesn't have a place because it is already to blame for everything and it's part of the problem and not part of the solution, ... this is thoughtless to say the least,'' said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Russia will not approve the use of force against the Syrian regime at the United Nations, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. That's the whole problem, the 'butcher' wants to stay. Sadly, there are precious few viable alternatives to him. Look at what happened in Egypt & even Turkey: Islamic extremists do not have a concept of separating their religion from government. As in Iran, the 'church' (mosque) runs the state.

Thailand re: violence in the South, please take note.

#3 - and your point on Syria is.....?

You are right, you do have limited knowledge, unfair or not under the constitution Abhisit was correctly elected.

Dicke Emery - but it is OK for Israel who are in breach of literally hundreds of UN GC resolutions and the serious issue of SC 242 to attend and vote? Anyone who thinks Iran do not have a role to play is not very well informed on the region. The US is also in breach of many UN resolutions although not necessarily binding ones, but so what? Rendition, Guantanamo - how far do you want to take this line of reasoning? Remember also that the Irish issue only got anywhere when we started talking to Sinn Fein.

Also #1 - good point, many of which are pro Al Qaida factions.

So far, as i understand, with my limited knowledge, The People's Alliance for Democracy PAD (yellow shirts) have never called for an election! and during the 2011 election they ran a "no vote" campaign!

The democrat party has never won an outright majority and there are questions surrounding, how it was, that Abhisit Vejjajiva was able to secure enough parlimentary votes to ever be elected Prime Minister.

And what sanctions will the powers that be impose on the Serian rebels?

We should always remember that whatever is good enough for Peter should also be good for Paul, and whatever goes around, will always come around.
