Authorities have declared Phrae a disaster zone after parts of it were badly hit by flash floods and forest run off.
The disaster took place after heavy downpours persisted during the past few days. Three Long district tambons - Ban Pin, Huay Or and Hua Thung - were hardest-hit by the floods during the pre-dawn hours Sunday, where 400 families were affected.
In tambon Ban Pin flash floods and forest run off cut off a 15-metre long section of railway and inundated hundreds of villagers' homes.
Local train services from Den Chai station to the North were halted as railroad staff checked bridges and tunnels in the area for damage.
