Warning: More heavy rainfall

The Meteorological Department Saturday morning issued a warning for people in the North, Northeast, East and West to prepare for widespread scattered rain with heavy falls in some areas today and the next few days.

Widespread scattered rain and heavy falls are expected at this time as the strong southwest monsoon is prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand plus the influence of Tropical Storm Doksuri in the South China Sea, it said.

There will also be strong wind-generated 2 to 3-metre-high waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand. All shipping should proceed with caution and small boats should keep ashore at this period, the department warned.
