A 29-year-old woman has given birth to sextuplets in the first such case in Thailand.
Duangchanok Wangwitthayaskul delivered three girls and three boys at Bumrungrad International Hospital about two months ago, but she appeared in public for the first time on Friday on the Rueng Lao Chao Nee morning news programme on Channel 3.
Hospital officials confirmed the sextuplets were the first born in Thailand, the programme said.
Nopporn, Duangchanok’s husband, said all the babies were in good condition and were allowed to go home after two weeks in the hospital, except the fourth baby girl who is still under doctors' care because her weight has not met minimum criteria.
The six babies were named after their parents' favourite car brands: Audi (girl), Fortune (Toyota Fortuner) (girl), Porsche (boy), Mini (girl), Volks (boy) and Fiat (boy).
Nopporn, 37, said he had never expected the event because his wife previously faced pregnancy-related problems, even though the doctor had used fertility drugs to stimulate her ovaries to produce eggs.
However, she became pregnant after the doctor decided to inject his sperm directly into Duangchanok's ovaries.
"It was very chaotic during the first few weeks at home," he told the TV programme.
"Besides me and my wife, three babysitters were hired to help take care [of all the babies] and my aunt and parents also came to help too."
