E. Timor PM set to win poll

East Timor resistance hero Xanana Gusmao looked likely to remain prime minister after preliminary results on Sunday showed his party has taken the largest number of votes in parliamentary elections.

His centre-left National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT) won 36.6 per cent of the votes in Saturday's poll, an official tally showed.
