Militants shot dead four soldiers and wounded two others early Saturday in Pattani, an army spokesman said, as the surge in violence since the start of Ramadan continued.

A closed-circuit video image released by the Royal Thai Police to AFP shows suspected separatist militants firing machine guns during the attack on soldiers on Saturday.

Medical staff in Mayo hospital in Pattani treat one of the soldiers wounded in Saturday's attack.

Did you realize musashi that the PT is in charge and not the Dem’s, and the Minister of Defense who was in charge of purchasing bomb-detectors and defending those tools against any logic is a PT man? And of course he is too busy to find proof that AV did something wrong to realize that actually he did!

How can any military leader send out soldiers on motorbikes while everybody know that the insurgents have pick-up trucks and heavy guns; the officers responsible for that should be punished.

Just talking with my wife about this. The current talk on Thai social media is people don't want to see this as it makes them sick.
Second point is why don't the red shirts go down there if they love the country so much.
And before the attacks start my wife is not rich nor yellow. She just wants Thailand to move on.

Spot on meme. The defence minister is more concerned with and more involved in mud slinging than his own troops. Disgusting behavior and more evidence that Thaksin/PTP do not care about their country but only their power and money, just like Thaksin. Of course....

Many people are now convinced that Thai military doesn't want to lose face by losing to any militants and it is easier to take over an elected government as politicians can't shoot back.

Shall the powerful Thai military show us otherwise?

It's a war, plain and simple, stop denying it, openly declare it, give everybody fair warning, then go in and systematically wipe them out, village by village, kill them all, drones, air attack, smart bombs, all the WMD a modern army can bring to bear.....then let God sort them out up in heaven....I guarantee that after a couple rounds of this no prisoners treatment, the violence will stop.
