Alcohol bans in vehicles and factories

Two Prime Minister's Office announcements - one banning drinking of alcoholic beverages in vehicles and the other banning sales and drinking of alcohol in factories - have been published in the Royal Gazette and were effective from today, Aug 8.

The two announcements were issued under the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act of 2008.

    So... let me get this straight. Before today, factory owners let their employees drink on the job and operate dangerous and expensive machinery???

    Great, Thailand joins the nanny states we came from with silly symbolic laws like this. Now, just like at home, it's legal to drink 2 beers then drive home, but it's illegal to drink 1 while you are driving.
