Tida rejects 'crappy' education job

Red-shirt leader Tida Tawornseth has rejected a position she was offered by the government on a subcommittee working at the Office of the Education Council, saying it was a “crappy” job.

“The subcommittee is only a tiny protrusion without any functional role. Founding it as a committee was already small, let alone a subcommittee which makes it even more crappy," she said. Mrs Tida used the disparaging Thai term "kra jork" (กระจอก).

"They can’t beat UDD schools and a red-shirt university [which is not yet established]. I thank the minister for honouring me, but the honour you gave was a little too low,” said Mrs Tida, chairwoman of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD).

if khun TIDA is a lecturer she should stick to her qualification and not branching into politics let the qualified person doing the job properly, perhaps the objections by the scholars force her to say that she does not want the post.Might as well, the less brain washing from the red shirt may enlighten the less informed citizens of thailand to see sense.

that's what I said when Abisit opened the Dem school to teach politics He can't win an election so he will teach you how not to win. Learning from a loser iswhat I call it. Go ahead...more power to you

The truth is any job would take her away from her time leading the self proclaimed "mob". I'm sure she gets paid much better now.

Yes there is the Shinawatra University. But it is rated number 9,197 out of 11,000. I guess that's why not many have heard of it.

She is used to be the boss (the red mob boss), she calls the people to come here and go there (even though they never show up in the numbers she is asking for), she is the icing on the red cake, how can one dare to offer her anything below a top dictatorial post?

While we probably all appreciate efforts to improve the educational system, this egocentric women links everything she does to and for the red shirts. A red shirt university... Let's say she doesn't accept little crappy jobs, she goes only for the big crap.

Well, that just about sums up this revolting self-important, self-serving and thoroughly selfish party.

D10@rontorr - especially as the Education Minister never asked if she wanted it before he gave it to her - how presumptuous and disrepectful - no wonder she refused. Methinks the Education Minister just advanced his chances of more free time after the reshuffle - what a pantomine. However alls well that ends well as at least the objection to appointing political extremists has been dealt with as the Nitrat fellow also refused - nobody asked him either
