Tida rejects 'crappy' education job

Red-shirt leader Tida Tawornseth has rejected a position she was offered by the government on a subcommittee working at the Office of the Education Council, saying it was a “crappy” job.

“The subcommittee is only a tiny protrusion without any functional role. Founding it as a committee was already small, let alone a subcommittee which makes it even more crappy," she said. Mrs Tida used the disparaging Thai term "kra jork" (กระจอก).

"They can’t beat UDD schools and a red-shirt university [which is not yet established]. I thank the minister for honouring me, but the honour you gave was a little too low,” said Mrs Tida, chairwoman of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD).

She just burnt her bridges... You can't insult Thaksin in public and get away with it... Unless you are VERY powerful... And Thida is not.

She's going to find her role diminishes very quickly. She'll try to mobilise Red Support against her betrayers, but she'll find money is a more powerful motivator than loyalty.

Thida is an ex-Red Shirt... She has ceased to be.

Indeed, using the precious time on developing UDD schools and the planned red-shirt university makes more sense.

I love it, what she said was, basically, take this piddly little job and shove it, how dare you insult a university lecturer with a tiny obscure little SUB-comittee like this.
    LOL

There is already Shinawatra University. Why doesn't Thaksin let the red shirts study there for free?

    a “crappy” job.

I thought it would have suited her perfectly!!

This, er, Thai person is some piece of work. The position is not good enough for her? I want to see her CV including factual documented education degrees. Bet they are non existent.
Are they going to have Mob Activities 101, Street Barricading 101, Violent Behavior 101 and 500 Baht Per Day Protesting Doctoral Degrees?

It's fairly obvious that the government really has no interest in approving the education system in Thailand if they could make the ridiculous decision to offer Tida and other vastly unqualified rede shirt people a post in any capacity related to education. The critics were right. But my guess would be Tida would accept a post if there was a budget to plunder or some power to exercize.

The UDD schools are already more than worrisome, brainwashing youngsters with the red shirt doctrine.

A Red Shirt University, means everyone passes just by paying the money, you do not have to attend, like so many of their peers. Education in Thailand props the world up!

but the honour you gave was a little too low,” said Mrs Tida, THE SELF APPOINTED chairwoman of the United Dictators against Democracy (UDD).

Has she got the Thai concession for the Little Red Book, is that her angle.
