Monks defrocked for drug abuse

UTTARADIT- Four monks at a temple in Lab Lae district have been kicked out for using methamphetamines, or ya ba, a report said.

Police and volunteers conducted urine drug tests on all the monks at Wat Doi Mul in Lab Lae district after receiving several complaints from local residents.

Four monks tested positive for methamphetamine -- Banchob Keawrattana, Somchai Suwannasuk, Anurak Unmak and Thanongsak Srichu-im.
