2 students held in fatal bus shooting

Two students of a vocational school, both aged 17, have been arrested for involvement in a shooting in which a 16-year-old student of another vocational college was killed on Aug 16.

Pol Lt-Gen Kamronwit Thoopkrachang, the Metropolitan Police chief, said the two are students of a vocational school in Bang Phlat area.

They allegedly confessed that about 20 students stopped bus No 110 near the mouth of Charan Sanitwong Soi 73/1 and some of them got on and approached the 16-year-old student to ask him which school he belonged to.

Let's start by having no uniforms so the college that students attend can't be easily identified. But it is a deep-rooted cultural thing, as there is often little or no real parenting and no discipline as boys are treated as little princes who can do no wrong.

Dis#4. My friend suggested the same thing last night. This idea that persons under the age of 18 don't know what they are doing is rubbish. 4 year olds understand right and wrong and know how to lie so therefore they comprehend. Teenagers most certainly understand but act out because they know that there is no punishment. Its murder and the punishment is prison or death. These people were out looking for a fight, therefore they understand what they are doing. Bit tough, but execute one or two and watch this behavior disappear overnight.

I don't know why it is difficult for the police to de-arm the students; the fact, is it is just 1-2% students who are involved in violence using guns/knives -- just raid their houses, hostels etc and get the co-operation of their parents. Students do get into fights but arms make the whole matter very unpleasant to parents.

This on-going deadly violence between these few technical schools is quite unique to Thailand. It is more like a primitive tribal warfare deep in the jungle somewhere, where a group of total strangers are hurting and killing another group of strangers with no reason, other than some kind of mysterious intense hatred against one another. Can anyone tell me where that intense hatred came from? And until, we can find the root cause of it, this kind of barbaric and primitive tribal warfare will continue with more losses of lives, with innocent bystanders occasionally getting caught in between.

it seems that children all over the world are becoming more violent, you have to ask yourself how does a 17 year old have a handgun, but you also see that the 16 year old started the violence by showing a knife. i agree with disc 4 that when children reach a certain age to spend time in the military. here in the states the young teen violence comes from no parents, taking away parental rights for discipline and the vass growth of gangs, it is like a culture of the music and a image. examples you see violent videos on you tube, mtv videos, music that speaks of violence. parents need to go back to way it was when i was a child. you learn respect and you had learned right and wrong. i see the violence in canada, great britian and china, and russia. when i am in thailand, nong khai it is not so bad but you see the children trying to look and act like western teens, what they see on the internet and the music videos. here is a thought, let's turn the internet off what do you think?

They should go to these two schools. Pick up all the gang members. Put them in an Army uniform and send them to the South of Thailand for foot patrol. Thats the punishment. Make it known to all this is what will happen to you if you cause trouble. Good luck boys.

This place is starting to become a failed state when it comes to justice. Killer cops released on bail, mad senator who 'accidently' shoots his secretary remains a free man, anybody under 18 seems to get away with murder, and that's all in one week. Nice going, Thailand.

this is ridiculous, so when are they gonna start putting these kids in jail instead of slapping their hands for murder and assault, and expelling all who participate from the schools?
