K-pop Nichkhun fined for DUI

SEOUL - Nichkhun Horvejkul, a Thai-American and a popular member of South Korean boy band 2PM, faces a fine of four million won (about 110,000 baht) for driving under influence of alcohol, reports said on Thursday.

Nichkhun, 24, was booked for DUI after colliding with a motorcyclist in Seoul on July 24, 2012. The motorcyclist suffered bruises but no broken bones.

The reports said the K-pop superstar was driving with a blood alcohol-content level of 0.056 per cent, which exceeds the Korean blood alcohol limit of 0.050 per cent.

Kudos to S Korean Police, no hanky panky and a realistic fine. Would have been a lot different if the motorcyclist was hurt/killed, jail for sure. The lad was lucky this time.
