Broadcaster axes panda reality TV

After three years of following her every move, TrueVisions has pulled the plug on one of the kingdom's most-loved but lethargic reality TV celebrities - a giant panda.

Linping, Thailand's first giant panda cub, has won millions of fans since her birth in 2009, becoming the star of a live feed from a zoo in Chiang Mai dubbed the "Panda Channel".

But the show ended after the satellite-cable television broadcaster axed the programme as part of its plans to introduce new channels, to the dismay of her legion of fans.

And now you know why this country's people have a rather pigeon holed intellect. It was the silliest thing I've ever seen on TV, and yet it was apparently popular.

True visions could maybe look to other countries to get an idea of what people like to watch .I know they try to run on a show string budget but they could at least try to get Eurosport so we could see something besides football .

They have the panda but we can't have UK ITV, Channel 4 or the BBC except the international rubbish BBC, give us the Austrialan TV that airs on the cable sites of true Please!

I am so glad this has finally ended! What a waste of money. Every time I passed over this channel the bear was asleep.

"Supornthip Bunlased, 54, who was a regular viewer."

Seriously? I bet he watches with his mouth open and some drool on the floor. It's mind-opium of the worst kind (there's no high).

What a shame, they pull the only channel on TRUE that does not constantly retransmit the same old shows/movies day after day, week after week, year after year....(:
