Russia slaps ban on anti-Islam film

A Russian court on Monday banned as ``extremist'' a US-made anti-Islamic film that sparked deadly protests across the Arab world but whose showing was backed by human rights supporters in Russia.

Moscow's Tverskoi District judge sided with prosecution arguments presented in court that the low-budget "Innocence of Muslims'' production "promoted the rise of religious intolerance in Russia.''

The court will now pass on the ruling to the justice ministry for addition to Russia's disputed national list of "extremist material'' whose distribution is prosecuted and in most cases leads to time in jail.

It seems that every year the world breaks down and gives into islamist demands on what we the people of the world can say about them or not. Soon Islam will control the world media.

Censorship is not the way forward, not with this or anything else.

To give this universal publicity to the badder movie in the world, afflicting! The turkey was for 6 monthes on internet with a few visits. and now? Pity to give reason to the integrists/extremists using half-a-billion Muslims for political reasons.

The film is not 'US made' implying the US government made it.It was made by an Egyptian. Stop calling me 'infidel'.I am proud of my free thinking.

Regrettable, I would have thought the Russians and especially Putin were smart enough to see the danger and foolishness of allowing these violent religious fanatics to censor what citizens can say or see, and tough enough to deal decisively with these rioting buffoons. Once again the terrorists have been handed a victory.
