Petrol tanker, 18-wheeler collide

SARABURI - A petrol tanker and an 18-wheel truck collided on Phahon Yothin road on Thursday morning, causing an explosion that killed one driver and injured the other -- and caused a three kilometre-long traffic jam, police said.

Pol Col Amorn Sritunayothin, chief of Nong Khae police station in Saraburi province, said the  driver of the 18-wheeler was burned to ashes. The driver of the tanker truck was severely injured and was sent to Nong Khae hospital.

Four fire engines called to the  accident scene took about two hours to extinguish the blaze.
