Plywood is used all over the world to make boats, including speedboats. But this boat sounds like it might have been sabotaged, as it only manage to travel 100 meters out of Bali Hai.

27 people + luggage aboard a speed boat.
Do authorities really need to be investigating the cause of the sinking???

It probably sank because it had no buoyancy bulkheads and filled up with water.

“1 people liked / 10 people disliked this article”

I do not understand how someone can “like” or “dislike” an article about news facts.

The biggest surprise is that not more accidents happen with these "plywood" speed boats....just accidents waiting to happen.
