Large bullet cache found in Bangkok

A cache of at least 10,000 bullets and some hand grenades were seized when police raided a Bangkok apartment owned by a former deputy governor of Nakhon Pathom province on Monday night.

Acting on a tip off, they entered the apartment, at the Panya Rarm Intra Ua-arthorn project in Klong Sam Wa district.

They found four hand grenades, more than 10,000 bullets and 15 clips for M-16 rifles. There was no one there. No arrests were made.

There are lots of redshirt weapons hidden all over Thailand.

Seems like it is 'case closed' already. How quick Chalerm is to open his big mouth and say he knows all about it (again).

Doesn't he think it might be prudent to wait until after the owner and other preliminary investigations have been done before launching speculation like this ?.

He is amazingly irresponsible and arrogant. How many of his 'wonderous deductions' are actually true when the facts are known ?.

How can the police say this before they have questioned the owner and the caddy? Have the police questioned anyone about who has been coming and going from the apartment? Who gave the 'tip'and why? When police 'enter' they break the door down acting on a tip? They had probable cause to enter?

I'm not surprised. I predict, more ammunition, firearms and grenades, are stashed not only in Bangkok, but in other areas of the country.

The caddy for some Red Shirt MP? There's only two groups in Thailand known to cache weapons. Islamic insurgents in the south or Red Shirt affiliates.

If it's not a politician then its a police, and if it is not a police, then it is a politician. But in jails we find only normal Thais.

    - "the owner may not have known know about the ammunition stored there as he had delegated the subletting of the apartment to a golf caddy. "

    The caddy.....the fall guy.

    The caddy
    the chauffeur
    the butler
    the cook
    the maid

All fall guys for those with the money and power.
