Rangers wounded by bomb in Yala

Nine para-military rangers were wounded, one of them seriously, when a bomb exploded as they were returning to their base from a patrol in Yala's Yaha district on Wednesday.

Police said the attack occurred about 2pm near a village in tambon Baro on the Yaha-Patae road.

The rangers were returning to their base at Ban Yasub in tambon Patae on a pick-up truck when a bomb planted in a motorcycle the side of the road was detonated remotely with a mobile phone.

While Chalerm and his ilk hunker-down in the Bangkok Bunker command center with no clue on what to do, their security forces have become nothing but easy daily target practice. And we don't even get a peep or comment from those appointed by the government to do nothing. And they are cowards not to visit the civilians, teachers, monks, Thai civilians and security forces whose lives they put in harm’s way without concern.
