Warrant for Thaksin in KTB case

The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions on Thursday issued a warrant for the arrest of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in a case involving 11.58 billion baht in loans from state-owned Krung Thai Bank.

The case came before the court after the Office of the Attorney-General filed malfeasance charges against Thaksin and 26 others, including former KTB president Viroj Nualkair.

The OAG prosecuted the 27 in connection with KTB loans provided to affiliates of Krisdamahanakorn Plc, a major property and real estate firm.

Well, at least they can't say this case was perpetrated by the coup-makers against him. Most likely it will come to nothing, but it's a nice gesture for the judicial system to give it a nominal try.

Thaksin won't get a conviction over this, as the PTP is in power. Next a sudden review of the case will happen and it will be found that there was no wrong doing by anybody.

Let's see how Pheu Thai and UDD wriggle out of this one.

    About time too!

This is the entire reason Thaksin skipped bail on the first case.

He wasn't too worried about the Ratchapisek land deal, he was more worried about the litany of cases that followed. Each of the following cases carry custodial sentences for guilty parties. Better for him to try to get all his thievery classed as 'political crimes' and whitewashed as part of some phony 'reconciliation bill'.

Cue 'politically motivated' cries from the usual Thaksinites.

I am speachless...is it possible that Thailand will finally see some real justice being served? Thumbs up for The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holdiers of Poltical Positions.

Another warrant out for a serial criminal. Who wants to bet that Nitirat & Co., who have "nothing at all to do with Thaksin," will be out in force again talking about Constitution re-writes and how necessary it is to eliminate the power of the Supreme Court for "democracy's sake..."

Now the arrest warrant is out for him so he's a fugitive? There again nothing will ever going to happen to him the excuse will be "it's political motivated" he can still travel freely without fear of being arrest from the last case, I don't have confidence in Thai justice system 555

Now we can sit back and wait for the usual suspects to come forward and cry political motivation.

Naturally the already-convicted felon-on-the-run is innocent of this charge until he comes back, faces the charges and is proven guilty.
