"Thaksin remains overseas and also remains firm that he will not accept the consequences of the coup d'état [on Sept 19, 2006]," Mr Noppadon said.

pointman-1 - you really should read up on your hero just a little. A failed businessman multiple times over until he got his police buddies to give him a no bid, no compete contract that he could finally build on a business on. In the real world he is a total failure. In the Thai world of cronyism that allowed no competition from other companies or counties in telecommunications, he is a success.

@pointman-1. 'Mr. Thaksin is a very brilliant man'.

Yes, a brilliant liar and con man. Sociopath is too soft a word: psychopath is more appropriate.

'Spoke to a few friends' is not good enough : do some homework and search 'Thaksin corruption'. He has many other cases waiting for him based on solid evidence.

It's understandable to me, why Mr. Thaksin rejected the arrest warrant. In a democratic society, the president/PM isn't liable for bank loans. As far as purchasing stocks and /or property, those are legal transactions until proven otherwise. If a man is smart enough to buy stocks that increase in value, that's simply a smart investment. I want to hear EXACTLY what Mr. Thaksin is charged with. I'm not interested in speculation, or heresay.

Disc 29: Mr. Thaksin is a very brilliant man. It's not unusual for a brilliant man to be called a sociopath, or several other degrading names. Brilliant people are in a lot of cases, the envy of the world. In my opinion, Mr. Thaksin is an honorable man who looked out for all Thai people to include the poor. I'm also convinced, Mr. Thaksin was removed from office under questionable/illegal circumstances.

After discussing the Thaksin case with several friends, I came to the conclusion,most-people shouting guilty, have no clue as to the exact corruption Mr. Thaksin is supposedly charged with. It's one thing to claim an individual is guilty of corruption, but an entirely differnt matter to provide evidence to back up those accusations. I hope Mr. Thaksin gets his day in court and the truth of this issue is revealed to everyone. Frankly speaking, I feel Mr. Thaksin is sinply a victim of political circumstances.

"Am I the only one that thinks there are *so* mental issues at play here?"

LOL, couldn't decide between some and so many. I'm inclined to lean toward so many.

If he was so innocent, he wouldn't have countless corruption charges against him. Although the country is corrupted, a high profile case will just be smoke and be gone the next day if it were not for hard evidences that stand.

Dynastic regimes, rarely, if ever, admit to wrong doing. There is no double standard for them ONLY their "standard". Does the Man Abroad actually think we all believe his protestations? Khun Noppadon is no doubt well paid to do his job but we do not need to accept his "sound bites" as necessarily the only version of facts on offer.

I like to see the positive side of this: Even with his clone sister as the PM and with his henchman Chalerm in charge of the police and many other posts filled with relatives Thaksin is still scared to return to Thailand. Maybe this shows us that the PThaksin government is not really as much in charge as they want to be and as they pretend to be. Maybe there is still hope.
