PM strengthening ties with Kuwait

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said the government will join hands with the Kuwait government in spurring economic growth in both countries.

Speaking at a reception hosted to boost Kuwaiti investors' confidence in Thailand’s political and economic stability, Ms Yingluck said Thailand and Kuwait have had a close relationship for more than five decades.

The two countries had been  partners in enhancing mutual economic growth over the past five years, she said.

Khunbj, the polls agreed with your assessment. Most Thais look forward not backwards and Yingluck is doing just that while the opposition continue to be just the opposite and clink on to their only playable card.

"More than 40,000 Kuwaiti tourists had visited Thailand in the first six months of the year and this showed that Thais and Kuwaitis are close strategic partners, she added"

What exactly is a 'strategic partner'?
I guess the strategy is: you give me one ton of oil, I give you one ton of rice. Price? Same same!

I am curious how does tourists coming to your country get equated to being "close strategic partners"? If that is the benchmark, then Hawaii must be close strategic partners with just about every country in the world.

Good to see that the PM continue to work relentlessly on improving international relations and promoting Thailand everywhere in the world, as a business man I am very grateful for this and so are my colleagues. This again shows that she is by far the best PM Thailand ever had....the previous PM and Government were unfortunately more occupied with their obsession in following TS around in the world than taking care of the governing of Thailand, such a shame as they wasted those years in achieving nothing.
