Nurses demand govt employment (pix)

About 500 nurses gathered outside Government House on Tuesday morning, demanding the government employ them as permanent officials.

The nurses wanted the government to fulfill its promise of offering more than 3,600 positions with full state benefits.

About four months ago, Public Health Minister Witthaya Buranasiri pledged to hire them at hospitals under his ministry's control by the end of this fiscal year but so far not a single one of them has been employed.

Here come the endless demands for benefits. Next it will be demands for raises. And pensions.

This is not the role of government.

Another forgotten promise from the government Perhaps they though they would get away with this one too.
As a result, white shirts are rallying in front of the Government House where the yellow and the red shirts had their turns. Who's next? The teachers?
