Thaksin-haters prefer the coup or even an assassination plot rather than an election.

D24,ricefield : You're right. Lots of different groups would benefit. The group that would benefit the most from Thaksins pre-mature death,is the group called Thais, but I'm sure ethnic minorities and all the different groups of foreigners would benefit too.
So why your constant calls for civil war? Is that really what you want?

#24, Yes indeed, about 70 million would benefit. And no, there'll never be a "civil war." Hardly anyone shows up for the rallies, so who'd show up for the war? Fight with what weapons? For what cause? Democracy? You're having a laugh!

Thaksin has a long record of dreaming up assasination attempts. Perhaps this time it's because the Burmese President has been advised not to meet with a wanted criminal.

I told everyone a week ago that Thaksin would not visit the border because of security problems on the airport approach. I don't know why anyone is surprised that he's not going.

There are definitely groups within Thailand that could benefit politically if Thaksin was killed, that is if it didn't trigger a civil war.

And I always read that everybody in Thailand loves him and everybody outside Thailand feels sorry for him.

It sure was one of the DEMs who wanted to spoil his weekend gathering with the fan base.
    Sorry
