Senate asks to see G-to-G contracts

The Senate committee on corruption and promotion of good governance has asked the Commerce Ministry to provide it with copies of the government-to-government (G-to-G) rice sale contracts.

Paiboon Nitiwan, part of the Group of 40 and member of the committee, said the request was made under Article 6 of the law concerning the power of House and Senate committees.

The ministry is required by the law to send the documents to the committee within seven days, otherwise Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom would be invited to explain why.

The contracts may just arrive in time for the censure debate. But perhaps not, because there are no contracts but only MOU as PT will claim. Then PT will be asked to submit the MOU , but they will arrive to late for the debate and will not mention any selling prices.

Disc 1 - the Group of 40 are all Senators appointed by the Junta led government so you might ask if they have an agenda or are actually working for the betterment of the country.

Could this possibly be some common-sense at last.I hope so for the country's sake.It could even prove that there is collusion and more little white lies,well big ons really.The facts may be correct and that G to G has been agreed but at what cost to the tax payer.What ever it will throw much light on a very shady situation.
