Chalerm accuses media of bias (video)

A video clip of Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung arguing with a reporter during a press interview, accusing her of being uninformed and biased, is being circulated in several social media platforms.

He was talking about security details for handling the next Pitak Siam anti-government rally, scheduled to be held on Nov 24 at the Royal Plaza, Bangkok.

When questioned, the deputy prime minister in charge of security affairs blurted out that the media “sympathised” with the opposition Democrat Party, and that this was reflected in their questions and their messages to the public.

Politicos are like primary school children. "I did not"; "You did so". "I never did". They are in public life and so must accept that all they do is not acceptable to the Fourth Estate. They get paid, many of them, more than they are worth but they still want whiter than white reputations. Oh dear. Oh dear. Honesty is a difficult concept with which to live.

Chalerm, part of being a real democracy is being accountable, whether by the electorate or news people asking those difficult questions you don't want to answer.

Pheu Thai has done many things that are deserving of criticism in the media. Perhaps the party ought to take a close look at these reported failings instead of lumping everything the media say as "biased"

The female reporter had shown her non-professionalism by expressing her pro-dem stance during the interview. Some thai newspaper reporters did the same thing.

D3 : What does it matter who she works for? Chalerm couldn't or wouldn't answer some simple questions. He then accuse her of bias??? What a joke.
D6 : LOL! Hilarious! For comment consideration: do not submit comments with slanderous, vulgar, violent, overbearing language; misspelled names; incorrect capitalization uses; which discuss moderation action; deemed critical of the monarchy, which may cause legal dispute.
I wouldn't call BP biased, just a wee bit on the strict side.

@canuck #6: You must do something wrong. Many comments from some very pro Thaksin people like android and others are published all the time. So clearly the BP publishes pro government comments. Sometimes my anti Thaksin comments are not published, I guess because sometimes I use not so nice words to describe a not so nice situation. But fair enough, next time I try to say it in other words and it is published again. Just try again!

The media is biased against PT. Almost every one of my posts are tossed because they don't like my opinion. So he is right and you all are wrong.

A reporter in the position to interview a top politician is likely not stupid. So how can Chalerm expect him/her to be supportive of this government? Even Chalerm should be able to understand this.

Coming from a Dubai biased deputy prime minister this is absolutely hilarious! LOL

Why can't TBP tell us the reporter's name and the news organisation she works for? It can't be a secret, surely.
