UDD to rally against Pitak Siam

The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) will hold two big rallies on 23-24 Nov in opposition to anti-government protestors, the movement’s core leader announced on Monday.

Pol Lt Col Sa-Ngiam Samranrat, head advisor to the Secretariat of the Prime Minister and a core leader of the red shirt movement, said the rallies would be held in Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan provinces, which abut Bangkok.

The UDD leader insisted the red shirts will not gather in Bangkok, especially near Government House and the Parliament where the Pitak Siam movement plans to hold anti government demonstrations on Nov 24 and possibly Nov 25.

Well, the promise not to rally lasted about three days, so I guess that's some kind of record for PTP and UDD.

    howell D10

They are the majority of those who voted and in a democracy that is the only thing that counts.

Disc 11 Apachepat,Nice to see somehow who nows that this govertment was elected by the vast majority of Thai people and thats how this govertment got in and if there was another election tommorrow the same outcome would be.The Reds are the best organized group in this country but some people in the minority group like disc 10 howell is still living elsewhere and doesnt realise what is reality. So all i can say is goodluck to PM Yingluck and her Phue thai party thier doing a good job.And Howell dont be too bitter come back to REALITY.

majority voted this government in by a landslide, reds support this government and are the biggest, best organised and most motivated political group thailand has ever seen, minority yellow mob may have money but they do not represent the wishes of the vast majority of thais when calling for coup and freezing thailand for their own selfish interest

@tomo. They are not the majority; far from it.

I assume you are being sarcastic ? Or your version of reality is severely warped.

Good on the Reds your the majority and good to see you will be there to support this good Democratically elected govertment. But watch out for the minority yellow thugs that are looking for trouble as they always do.Welldone Rambo and the Red army.Let it happen.

Several years ago, "Suporn Attawong and protesters attempted on the Prime Minister's life and injured his secretary general, Niphon Promphan, and Promphan's driver." And this guy has the audacity to even open his mouth? The quicker this bunch disappears (behind bars) the better for Thailand. Also "Thaksin called for a "peoples revolution" and "Violent clashes at numerous locations in Bangkok continued while arrest warrants were issued for Thaksin and 13 protest leaders." Their useful shelf life expiry date is fast approaching..

#2, "the utopian dream of the Reds is going on !!!" By definition a dream is utopic. And 200000 is more realist than one million, no?

  • Discussion 6 : 19 Nov 2012 at 17.596

good for the red shirts to be ready to protect the democratic government in case the yellow mob escalate their rabble raising coup calling to break the law and cause problems

Disc 2 Exactly... The 'massive' Red Shirt movement has never matched an average Saturday afternoon premiership game.

Given that some football fans like wearing coloured shirts and getting into fights, perhaps Thailand should permit THEM to select the government... At least the singing would be better.
