Under-18s banned from rally (pix)

Three police command centres will be set up near the Pitak Siam protest venue to direct law and order procedures, and people under 18 will not be allowed to take part in the anti-government rally, police said on Thursday.

Spokesman Pol Maj Gen Piya Uthayo said the frontline command centres would be at Sanam Suapa ground (next to the Royal Plaza), parliament and Government House. They would be supervised by Metropolitan Police chief Kamronwit Thoopkrachang and 40 other police commissioners selected from across the country.

Each command centre would have 5-6 sub-operations units to screen people entering the protest venue, to ensure they do not carry weapons or prohibited substances. Pitak Siam security guards would help police at each checkpoint.

What is the equipment, if it is genuine then surely it would re-enforce you case against the rally.

It is clearly done to deter anyone with juveniles so will rule out a lot of intended participants,Is there no depth that this dysfunctional government will stoop to.

    Why? X-rated?

So being under 18 you are forbidden from participating in things that will effect your future for many years to come. Seems to me that if any parent wants to take their children to the event to learn what politics is all about, the authorities should not be able to stop them.
You do not need to be 18 years old to attend the brainwashing at the Red Shirt youth camps that are being held around the country.

Thailand is very close to a dictatorship at this juncture. Worse yet, the dictator does not even live here.

Cannot be more silly than that...there have no limit to silliness.
