I think the PM is much smarter than many give her credit for. I have heard many slanderous things said about the PM on this site but to be honest I haven't seen any of those traits in her at all. She has always handled herself graciously and has performed quite well from day 1 considering it being her first time ever in politics and to go straight to the top job.

Peua Thai is a living, daily example of the limitations and even dangers of "democracy" in a nation of mostly uneducated, easily manipulated, good, but naive people who can't think past today's choices and decisions. If you really cared about the poor, you would not support a government clearly exploiting them.

I am think Yingluck is so nice person, and educate from USA, and pretty, she should not be shout at by the other politicians.

Then there's the other article, "Poll: People support neither govt nor Dems." My personal experience, even living in a "red" area, is that the vast majority of people neither trust, nor support any of party. UDD/PTP simply represents the most well organized, best funded, loudest, most violent minority - no party has a mandate to run the country.

RE: D5 Bob...Abhisit and his club also had a rice buying scheme...so what? The number you cite is the total value of the rice support, not the net cost of the program. they will likely recover most of it. The DP came to power and canceled all the programs set up by TS for the poor, but then within a few months introduced their own versions of the same program to try to emulate TS....then they still cling to the idea that if TS does it it is vote buying, but if they do it its good politics,After PT ran on a platform of raising the minimum wage the DP said they would raise it to, but now complain about the PTs plan.

The 75% favorable rating n the poll is even much higher than the election result. The DP and the opposition all already know this and that is what worries them the most. They desperately want the power back and it is rapidly slipping further from their grasp. They must know they can't win in via the ballot box....so they will resort to other means. I imagine yesterday was not too encouraging for them either. They need a new faces and new ideas if they will ever have a chance to win.

Thank god there is almost no correlation between the views of posters on this forum and the feelings of the Thai electorate

What a sad state of affairs, 75% of people saying that this government is doing a good job.
I bet that 74.5% are red shirts who have NO idea how to government a country, with terrible crime, economic issues, and tourist problems, low education, etc, etc.
It is such a pity as Thailand is such a lovely country and most people are friendly,it has such huge potential to be among the leading countries in Asia, but alas is falling further behind such countries as China, Japan, Malaysia and more.
I do hope for the sake of the country and the hard working thai people that some day which ever government is in power they will put the country first.
