Diesel levy cut, pump unchanged

A meeting of the Energy Policy Management Committee on Wednesday agreed to cut the levy on diesel by 0.50 baht a litre following a rise in global oil prices, permanent secretary for energy Norkhun Sithipong said.
Effective from tomorrow, Nov 29, the Oil Fund levy on the sale of diesel will be reduced from 1.20 baht per litre to 0.70 baht. The retail price of diesel would be unchanged at 29.79 baht a litre, he said.
Mr Norkhun said the global oil prices had increased from US$103.35 a barrel to USS109.45 for Dubai crude oil, from US$112 a barrel to US$121 for petrol 95, and from US$120.96 per barrel to US$125.9 for diesel.
