Pheu Thai thanks opposition

The ruling Pheu Thai Party is thankful that some members of the opposition voted in support of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in today's no-confidence vote, party spokesman Prompong Nopparit said.

The opposition parties named by Mr Prompong were Bhumjaithai, Matubhum and Rak Thailand.

Mr Prompong, however, did not say how many MPs from each of these parties voted for Ms Yingluck.

Thai politicians vote for confidence in a party, which is able to meet their personal needs. The country has little or nothing to do with it.

Yes, if by "to win confidence," you mean, "to buy off support from." PTP has made good on none of their promises, and has only exposed their self-serving agenda, compromising whatever facade of legitimacy they were still squatting behind.

I agree with D1,Oldexp. They simply want to grease up to the PTP,to get their sticky fingers in the cookie jar. It speaks volumes about whose interests these MP's serve. Their own.

... the government was able to win confidence from the people as well as the opposition parties
I think their votes just indicate their desire to be part of the feasting
