After seeing the video, it's crystal clear that the person causing this accident is jamie keats, he goes from the left side of the lane into a right turn? He should be sent to prison for reckless driving.

I am think that if tourist don't like Thai service, then don't come for to visit Thailand. Thai people live in Thailand for million years, and like to live here, and have no problem. When we have problem we don't make TV show about it, because we love our country and proud to be Thai ka! And proud of our police who work hard and try hard for little money. Nobody perfect!!

unbeliveable story, absolute disgrace, not only was the man trying to be fit up to pay tea money ,he lost his girlfriend, cctv proved that a local hit him from behinh as he was about to enter his hotel, the cops who were involved should go to jail for 10 years as a deterrant to anyone else, and should loss his rank and be kicked out,but no one losses their police rank even the fugitive

Yes, where is justice in Thailand? Mr Keats should be prosecuted for reckless driving without a valid driving licence, causing death. Possibly also for driving under the influence of alcohol? The police being corrupt is one problem. That they also don't apply the traffic laws of the land strictly, regardless wether the offender is Thai or foreign, is another one. Indeed, like Mr Keats complains himself, it's pretty lawless. I guess Mr Keats would have preferred a long prison sentence like the law prescribes?

Shocking story for those who have never been to Thailand and not good publicity for the Thai tourist industry.
For those who live here it comes as no surprise. The Thai police scare the hell out of me and I avoid all contact wherever possible.
Thai's and resident ex-pat's alike know the Thai police are simply a joke and not a police force out there protecting the neighbourhood and enforcing laws and generally within themselves being honest, law abiding citizens.
Oh no.... The Thai police are to be feared and avoided at all costs!!

Along with the promotion "Amazing Thailand" it should also say "enter at your own risk and we are not responsible for and tragic events you may experience"

    Somnamna Disc.6
I watched the video too and you are right. He actually was at least partially responsible.
However, there should have been a proper investigation and there should be somebody provided to translate.
You said "Last, Thailand is NOT cruel world, you don't like it don't ever come back he"
I think that is a little bit to easy. Thailand is maybe not cruel but it is unfair and corrupt.
It has to change and people have to play by the rules; including the poliece.
I can only recomment every tourist not to drive in Thailand as it has it's own set of rules.

I wouldn't come to Thailand if I were a tourist.

You get scammed the moment you get out of the airport by the limousine service

Then you have to deal everyday with some sort of scam up until the day you leave

It is sad story and my condolences to Nicole’s family, Watched the video but it is no more than just a crap to steer all the blame on Thai police for the treatment Jamie was given after the accident, 1st They didn't wear helmets, 2nd to turn right you have to be on the far left of the center line and he was hasty and made a dash across the lane from middle without checking for traffic behind. I am not siding with the Thai police I know many of them are thieves in uniform but the report video was unfair and most of the charges should be on Jamie reckless driving.

Last, Thailand is NOT cruel world, you don't like it don't ever come back he

This is the way, all accidents are decided by the Royal Thai Police, when a Farang is involved. Thai drivers are never at fault, irrespective of what and how it happened. Experienced it myself in 2005 in Thap Put (Krabi)and have seen numerous cases decided like that in Phuket. Nothing new, except more and more accidents are happening.
