The Irrawaddy, published by Myanmar journalists in Thailand, will hit newsstands in Yangon for the first time this week in the latest sign of sweeping reforms in the former pariah state.
Copies of the free magazine will be distributed on Thursday in the commercial hub of Yangon and other major cities in Myanmar, which has rolled back draconian censorship under a new quasi-civilian government that came to power last year.
Kyaw Zwa Moe, editor of The Irrawaddy's English edition, said that the magazine was "testing the waters'' by legally distributing inside the country for the first time since it was founded two decades ago.
