If the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES) is found guilty in its handling of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protests in 2010, former National Security Council chief Thawil Pliensri says he is willing to accept responsibility.
Mr Thawil, currently an adviser to the prime minister, was secretary of the CRES, which was set up by the Abhisit Vejjajiva administration to handle the violent anti-government protests of the red-shirts in April-May 2010.
He said he was not happy that Abhisit Vejjajiva, the then-prime minister, and Suthep Thaugsuban, then deputy prime minister in charge of the CRES, have been charged with premeditated murder in connection with the crackdown on the protesters.
