KHON KAEN – A 70 year–old vegetable vendor was set on fire by a thief who raided her shop in Muang district late Tuesday night, police said n Wednesday.

Police found burn marks on the floor, charred clothing and a bottle of petrol at the crime scene.

The store owner Pai Sri-Mahong, 70, was rushed to the hospital with severe burns to her face and body.

This sick individual,i hope the villagers catch him first and do the same to him.Terrible crime.This happened also to my Thai friends daughter.The jealous boyfriend after she ditched him Knocked her off her motorbike,walked over to her kicked her and poured petrol over her and set her ablaze.And he is still not be convicted to this day.Merly paid the family off.

So there were eye witnesses to this despicable crime, but they did nothing to prevent it or help the poor old lady. Instead they waited for the daughter-in-law to come downstairs and extinguish the flames after hearing the poor woman screaming as she burnt in her own shop. Tragic.
