Abu Sayyaf releases kidnap video

A new video emerged on Wednesday of an Australian man kidnapped by suspected Muslim extremists in the Philippines more than a year ago.

Philippine Marines armored vehicles are deployed in Patikul in southern Jolo island on September 14, 2006 as part of massive military operations hunting al-Qaeda linked Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) militants. A new video emerged on Wednesday of an Australian man kidnapped by suspected Muslim extremists in the Philippines more than a year ago.

Warren Rodwell, from Sydney, was seized from his home in the southern Philippine town of Ipil on December 5, 2011.
