D4 : Thanks for the reply though I would appreciate that you do it in the same article where my initial comment was posted.
I do not dispute the damage caused by alcohol but I certainly do not hope you're suggesting that yaa baa is less harmful?

    bangmodker, re. D. 5,
Your comment reflects a common belief, which, like so much "common knowledge", is as decidely not knowledge as it is common.

The reports of yaa baa related violence get more news coverage, but alcohol leads to and is more likely to lead to violence and other social harm - think domestic abuse, alcohol fuelled violence at sports events, etc: just not as exciting as a juicy yaa baa story.

Alcohol is a very efficient brain damager.

A good starting place for solid research, statistics and analysis is the Lancet's "Drug harms in the UK: a multi-criteria decision analysis", (2010) by Nutt, D., King, L. & Phillip,

You see the attitude they have where they think they are untouchable rewarding people to kill police .This is what happens when crime is left to spread .Stop being so inactive .The bad guys are supposed to fear the police .

Since the mounting scientific evidence that alcohol is more harmful than heroin, yaa baa or any other popular recreational drug used in Thailand is compelling, this is yet another example of the massive harm being done to Thai society by the current drug laws, which as stories like this daily demonstrate, are a total failure, benefiting none but the corrupt and the scum of society.

The scientific evidence is readily available, for example as shown in the Lancet's "Drug harms in the UK: a multi-criteria decision analysis", by David Nutt, Leslie King and Lawrence Phillips, on behalf of the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs, (2010).

solid proof that ya baa transfers human into animal behavior.
The idea that oridairy citizens put bounty on lawabiding police officers should be rewarded awith a
an extra charge in court, inciting deadly violence!
As Goerge Bush once said, there is no hiding place for this lot.
