We don't know if these figures are positive or negative in Thailand as we don't know if other provinces have a worst cases of drunk driving or rthe other way around. This is an interesting informaions though. Hope concern officials in that province will do something about this for the welfare of the public. If it is ttrue that Sisaket province in number eleven spot out of the 76 provinces as having lesser records of car accidents, then probably we can equate that drunk driving is rampant in other places compared in Sisaket.

Someone near me just passed the driving test in Bangkok. What a joke! Like a karting circuit, just have a slow drive, attempt to park, and you get your license! And the price for the license is an evening meal. What a joke! No wonder why they are so many accidents in Thailand; so easy to get a license to kill here.

Amazing that in another online news source, Si Sa Ket is listed as one of eleven provinces with absolutely no accidents on day one of the Seven Dangerous Days.

Drunk and driving in the country side is the norm .Once again the police are the problem .When they enforce the law the law wont be broken .

Its obvious a fair proportion of the thai population are not serious about road safety. Not bothering to get a licence, speeding and drink driving. I wonder how they would feel if they survived a car crash only to find out they had wiped out their own family and someone elses.Although thailand is moving towards tougher rules regarding road safety, it clearly is too little too late.As well as driver reviver checkpoints where people can rest and get a cup of coffee ( like in Australia), maybe they need a alcoholics anonymous office there as well...

It would be interesting to know how often breathalyzers are used throughout the year, while routinely stopping motorists. I’ve been stopped at numerous checkpoints, mostly in the South, during my time in Thailand. I have never had a breathalyzer test. Maybe if checks were done more often and fines imposed, over time we may see a reduction. Maybe this should be a New Year resolution for the officers in the coming year.

D12 ... not necessarily .... they could have been drunk, on a motorcycle not wearing a helmet and left their license at the noodle shop where they partook of the beverages ...

    1,844 + 1,713 + 3,935 = 7,492. At least 8 out of 7,500 drivers were OK.
