Bangkok 'best city for nightlife'

Bangkok has topped the list of the ten best cities for excellent nightlife adventures for travellers, according to a survey by Agoda.com, a leading hotel booking site.

Agoda.com has just released the list of the top ten nightlife cities as chosen by its customers. With New Year’s Eve now upon us, these cities are perfect to ring in 2013, it said.

The results were based on feedback from over 113,000 respondents provided at the end of their stay in the cities. The Agoda.com customers rated the nightlife on a scale of 1-5, 1 being “poor”, and 5 being “excellent”. The top spot was taken by Bangkok, which Agoda.com called "Thailand’s energetic capital known for its tuk-tuks, temples and street food", followed by Dubai, the gleaming desert city in the United Arab Emirates, and Boracay/Caticlan in the Philippines, famous for its white sand beaches and swaying palm trees.

    Nightlife?
    Number 1 is a city whith the earliest closing time in the world, thus underground/illegal clubs are common, and number 2 is a place where you must hide in order to get a decent drink.

    Reference Discussion #10;
    Agoda also has offices In Singapore, China, Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines, was started by an American, and has customers from all over the world; are you saying that the whole company is run by Thais?

    No doubt, if Bangkok had featured last on the list you would be praising Agoda as a well-run company!

    Soi Cowboy is a place full of prostitutes same as Walking street in Pattaya...may be they are popular areas for low class sex tourists.

    This is a joke. I know Thailand is for the sex tourist people so maybe it is 50 percent true as people Bangkok, pataya and Phuket are he laces where those sex tourist wants to visit. Just try go in these places and you will experience an amazing nightlife.

    I wonder if any of the people surveyed have actually been anywhere worthwhile outside Asia.

    I can think of at least a dozen places in Europe and North America that put Bangkok to shame. New York? Chicago? In Europe, Milan, among others comes to mind, not to mention several Greek islands, Prague, Budapest and on and on.

    The nightlife here is generally very low-brow. Soi Cowboy, in particular is a pit. Overall, there's simply no style at all.

    Agoda.com, Asia's leading hotel booking site.

    The nightlife here is very sleazy, I can only guess agoda is used by a lot of sex tourists.
