Sukhumbhand to resign Tuesday

MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra will formally tender his resignation as Bangkok governor on Tuesday, two days before his term ends, to ensure fair competition in the coming gubernatorial election, Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Monday.

MR Sukhambhand is the Democrat Party's chosen candidate for the city election, in which he will seek a second term.
