PAD asks Govt not to accept ICJ ruling

The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) has formally submitted a seven-point proposal for the government not to accept the International Court of Justice's(ICJ) pending ruling over the Thai-Cambodian border dispute.

The proposal was submitted by Panthep Puapongpan, a PAD core member, to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

In the first point of the proposal, the PAD asked the government to officially declare that the ICJ does not have the jurisdiction to interpret the 1962 judgement, which awarded ownership of the Preah Vihear temple to Cambodia but left the 4.6 sq km area surrounding it in dispute.

'............the PAD would consider taking action, which might be a mass rally"
That is a joke, isn't it?

I was at the last effort they made in this regard, over this self-fabricated issue, and it fell flat. Most people recognize these individuals for who they are.

But now watch them belly-ache when Ms. Y. relegates their request to file 13 where it belongs. And watch their compliant media friends give oxygen to that belly-aching.

This issue was decided long ago, and no effort to "raise Lazarus" from the dead for self-serving reasons changes that.

PAD does not understand that there is a long border between Thailand and Cambodia. If they for some reason manage to get the original ruling changed Cambodia will just use that and ask for the other areas along the border returned where the watershed line does not favor them. If that happens Cambodia stands to gain a huge chunk of Thailand, which was Cambodia prior to the agreement, than they would ever lose in the temple area. The map used was not only wrong in the Temple area but along large sections of the border benefiting Thailand way more than Cambodia.

Disc 4,i will answer your question. This bully mob will probably try to close the airport down and then cause a war between the two countries. They are troublemakers, and really have no goal. That Veera and Rathree are in the wright place.

The best that we can do is let those people in proper authority to solve this case for us. Or better yet, try to get a concensus opinion regarding this matter from the people near that temple

Not sure why the BP gives free oxygen of publicity to such absurd hard-line nationalist proposals by the PAD. They have been reduced to a tiny fringe group with minimal credibilty but a highly toxic message.

If Thailand loses the day on the ICJs ruling then it simply has to accept. Some Politicians fronted by Nationalist groups seeking to defy the ICJ will finally have to eat humble pie. The fact is that the Borderless Asean arrangements cannot happen until this issue is resolved and is far more important than a tiny enclave of land around the Preah Vihear Temple.

Isn't it about time the Government shut down the PAD and Red Shirts? There is little hope of functioning Parliament elected by the People until they do.

Why are these people so isolationist.

What a bullying mind are those pad guys. What if the government decided not to adhere to any of their requests. What if their planned demonstration failed to make the government comply to their will. Will it be a civil war or a pad war against cambodia with pad troups. The adventure of veera and ratree is still fresh in memory.

PAD needs to read the 1962 ruling and subsequent submissions and see exactly what Thailand has already agreed to.

I believe the right question is why some of the Isaan provinces are Thai. People are Khmer, language is Khmer, historical heritage is Khmer so why Thai? Surprisingly enough this is not the same can of worms as in the South , not yet , so go with the ICJs ruling and let the subject quietly drop.
