Armstrong 'to admit doping'

Lance Armstrong plans to admit to doping in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that will be taped on Monday at the disgraced cyclist's home in Austin, Texas, USA Today reported.

Lance Armstrong addresses the World Cancer Congress last August. The cycling star's folundation has raised nearly $500 million for cancer research but his reputation is now in tatters.

In an article posted on its website on Friday night, USA Today cited "a person with knowledge of the situation" as saying Armstrong plans to admit for the first time to doping throughout his career, but that he probably will not get into great detail about specific cases and events.

Much that he was a bully and apparent cheat, I challenge anyone gloating over his fall from grace to enter the world of competitive cycling, then they will know how heroic it is to drag your butt over those mountains and be the first among equals (equally pumped on EPO), try doing it 7 times having already beaten cancer. There's more to the world of sport than waiting for an admittance 15 years later, move on will ya, give the guy a break.

Why does Lance have to carry the cross for doping ?There were many before him and there will be many more .The doping agency has made a mockery of cycling .

armstrong will admit to anything provided the price is right! each and everyday we listen to reports of his so called confession........ the reason it hasnt come to fruition i believe, is because the price hasnt been right! no doubt he will be paid thousands of dollars by oprah winfrey and newspapers. it wont surprise me if there is a book in the offing either! he will probably make more this way than he did in his whole drug taking career!

Everyone wants a warts and all confession. Unfortunately this will be a puff piece of an interview, we'll still be no nearer the truth at the end of it.

Come on Lance, try for a little respect and just come clean....

As wrong as Armstrong's use of "doping" was, he is not the only offender. In the interests of fairness, go after them all.
