Most Malaysians must go home to vote

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysians living in south Thailand will have to return home to vote in the coming general election, the Malaysian Election Commission (EC) announced.

The EC secretary, Kamruddin Baria, told the media that most Malaysians residing in nearby countries would not be eligible for postal voting, according to a story in Tuesday's New Straits Times newspaper.

The election date is not known yet, but it must be held by June 28. Prime Minister Najib Razak must dissolve the nation's parliament by April 28.
