Nearly 40% unemployment in Myanmar

Myanmar’s first ever nationwide survey of income and employment has revealed that unemployment in the country is as high as 37% - with more than a quarter of its 60 million people living in poverty.

A Myanmar parliamentary planning and finance development committee has made sections of the survey available to the public, following a discussion of its findings at the Lower House last week, according to Eleven Media.

At least now we could have some news what really is happening in Myanmar...According to this report on unemployment the figure should be much higher because in reality the government still needs to verify the exact census on all citizens as almost a third of the population are missing from their homes and on top of that there are over a million people who became holders of citizenship during the military regime who were paid in millions of dollars in receiving national Identification cards...Some who doesn't know a word of Myanmar language even...
But it's better than before but still have to make huge efforts getting the right statistics.
