Poll: Pongsapat leads in Bangkok race

Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen of the Pheu Thai Party was still in the lead in the race for the governorship of Bangkok, Nida Poll at the National Institute of Development Administration reported on Wednesday.

The pollster said opinions were sought from 1,503 people  aged 18 years and up and of all education levels and a wide range of occupations in all 50 districts of Bangkok between Jan 23 and Jan 26,.

Asked who they would vote for if the election took place on the survey day, 23.82% of the respondents said Pol Gen Pongsapat, 19.16% backed Sukhumbhand Baripatra of the Democrat Party, and 5.12% supported former national police chief Pol Gen Sereepisut Temeyaves, an independent candidate, Nida Poll said.

Looks like another disappointment for the DP. They were reluctant to back Sukhumbhand and now we know why. Seems they already knew the incumbent was not very popular. Too early and Too many undecided yet to call the race but it is not looking good at this point for the DP.
