Less work, more activities for students

The Office of Basic Education Commission (Obec) plans to reduce the workload of students so that they have more time to learn outside of classrooms.

Obec, which supervises public primary and secondary schools, held a meeting on Tuesday to evaluate and improve the standard of the education system.

The new curriculum will be completed by the beginning of the next school year, which begins in May.

D1 why the negativity? What do you actually know about Thai schools. Some do have excellent students and staff who have both talent and work ethic.
The idea proposed is a sound one, it just needs to be implemented sensibly and regulated properly. And speaking of Education, the west interferes too much in theirs and doesn't look to adopt or in fact acknowledge the value of learning outside class. You would be surprised how much western students copy nowadays. Don't be so quick to criticize

So if Thailand led the world in Educational Standards, maybe it would be a good idea, But as Thailand is bottom of the world, why oh why would you give them less work to do and more Playtime! Crazy!
