Khun Ricefield #41, did Preedee Pranomyong flee Thailand over corruption charges, you know, unlawful financial gain?

Disc 40 - "As far as I know he fled the country because of a purely political reason" In reality, it was the same with Thaksin wasn't it?

Khun Ringmaster #38, after the coup, TS came back to Thailand and was living his life normally, until the day before the court date, didn't he? If he didn't think he would be safe in Thailand, why did he come back and stayed until just before the court date? And was Preedee Pranomyong charged with a corruption case? As far as I know he fled the country because of a purely political reason.

spiceman 37 - "Fleeing the country the day before he was supposed to show up in court was a pretty good admission of guilt, don't you think?"
This is incorrect. "...on July 31, Thaksin left for a speaking engagement in Japan before travelling to China for the [2008] Olympics opening ceremony." He was granted written permission from the court to do so. - Guardian, Aug 11, 2008

"But after visiting Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics, he did not return to hear the final supreme court sentence and applied for asylum in the United Kingdom." - Wikipedia

spiceman #37 No, I don't necessarily think that fleeing Thailand is an admission of guilt. You flee because you believe your life to be in danger and not because you're guilty. It's happened many, many times in Thailand. Pridi Banomyong immediately comes to mind.

Khun Ringmaster #36, I think it is easier to prove one or two laws that TS did not break, rather than to prove the rest of them that he broke! Fleeing the country the day before he was supposed to show up in court was a pretty good admission of guilt, don't you think?

brilliant D34 I would like someone to prove Thaksin is guilty in an impartial setting - that rules out any Thai court. And if you are even a bit familiar with legal rights - it is not up to someone to prove innocence - the onus is on the prosecutor to prove guilt.

brilliant, "reds lack the skills, desire, focus and knowledge", "disingenuous", "disappointing", "quite sad", "Quit being a tool"

definition: ad hominem - "...involves attacking the traits of an opponent as a means to invalidate their arguments...Equating someone's character with the soundness of their argument is a logical fallacy." - Wikipedia

Funny, reds want someone to prove Thaksin guilty. The courts did that. It's up to the reds to provide proof that Thaksin is not guilty. Can the paid reds on this board do that please?

facts_only - typical red, instead of asking others to do your work, please provide evidence that Thaksin was NOT guilty in the case you discuss? Quit being a tool.
