Brit boxer denies killing US marine

A British kickboxer on Monday pleaded not guilty to the murder of a former US marine when he appeared in court in Phuket, his lawyer said.

Lee Aldhouse, 30, is accused of stabbing to death 23-year-old Dashawn Longfellow - who was in Phuket after sustaining a combat injury in Afghanistan - following a bar fight in 2010.

Mr Aldhouse, known in Phuket by his ring name "The Pitbull", fled to his home country after the incident and become the first British suspect to be extradited to Thailand under a century-old treaty.

I doubt if US soldiers serving in Afghanistan are choir boys either.

Why did a Muay Thai pro have to use a knife to defend himself? I did not see any video or read about it elsewhere and only ask the question without any other knowledge than this article. From experience I know if you're not there a lot can happen to explain whys and how comes.

Let the courts decide if he is guilty or not.
I think the sentence: “and become the first British suspect to be extradited to Thailand under a century-old treaty” is a lot more important. Why was Lee Aldhouse the only person who was ever extradited? Especially keeping in mind that he is a Brit. Has it something to do with the fact that the killed person was a former US marine? Would the UK have also extradited him if he was accused of killing a Thai or two or three?

He will not get the death penalty as I am certain that the only reason why Britian extradited him was because the Thai Government promised he will not get the death sentence.

D#1 He was also caught on cctv selecting the weapon he later used to kill the man. Death penalty without question. But in retrospect life without parole in a Thai prison would suit the situation better. Far more punishment.

His lawyer wasn't even in court. He sent a representative. Aldhouse first plead guilty and then changed the plea to not guilty claiming he was out looking for his dog when someone came up behind him and he attacked him with the knife the clerks at 7-11 gave him. He should get the death penalty for his actions.
