Grenade wounds 8 Yala soldiers

YALA - A suspected militant threw a hand grenade at soldiers doing evening exercises Tuesday and the explosion wounded eight of the troops.

Pol Col Pacharaphol na Nakhon, chief of the Muang district police station, said two suspected insurgents drove a motorcycle past Wat Lak 5 at 6pm as soldiers of the Yala Task Force 11 were doing physical training at the temple field.

One of the motorcyclists tossed an M26 grenade over the temple wall into the group of soldiers, wounding eight, he said.

before was just shooting...now its bomb and granades next would be anything that is more deadly than those previous... the army should start to initiate a defencive move before everything is late.

All motorbikes carrying 2 people, will have to dismount and push the bikewhen within 100 metres of check points and bases. Pick ups with passengers travelling in the back not allowed within 100 metres, passengers will dismount and walk in front of truck. Same rule perhaps outside schools, or groups of workers, from assistence groups. An idea? Any vehicle without clear identification plates not allowed to be on the road, no numberplate the vehicle must show clear proof of owner, ID number of rider.
