Mum accuses police of killing her son

A 44-year-old mother has lodged a complaint with the Counter Corruption Division (CCD), claiming Bangkok police killed her son during an arrest attempt.

Araya Phuaksikaew told the CCD on Tuesday that on Jan 27 six policemen from the Wat Phraya Krai police station in Bang Kholaem district tried to buy methamphetamine pills from her son, Anant Promchan, 25, in a sting operation.

He was aware he was being set up and jumped into a canal to escape.

a thorough investigation should be done here to prove or disprove what this mother claimed. It could be that their are some negligence in the part of the arresting policemen that led to the immediate death of the man.

How did the police kill him if he jumped into the canal and they tried to save him?
