Manila objects to China fishing patrols

The Philippines objected Tuesday to China sending fishing patrol vessels to parts of the South China Sea claimed by Manila.

Beijing said it would conduct what it called "routine" fishery patrols around the disputed Spratly Islands as well as other disputed areas in the South China Sea.

"We again call on China to respect our territorial sovereignty and exclusive economic zone," the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs said, using the local name for the South China Sea.

Where is the time the People's Republic of China was 'fighting' so hard, and loud, all over the world, against 'imperialists'... Now they have become the worst imperialists themselves! Tibet was an appetizer for the Chinese, now digested, made possible by the greed and cowardice of the Western World, who made some strong declarations, but didn't take any hard measure which could have alienated that huge market. Why would China stop expanding, facing only 'paper tigers'? Shame!

It will be interesting to see if Asean stands up together against China or if the dictators in Cambodia and Thailand continue to bend backwards for Beijing.
